The project is located within a Corporate Campus and was designed to provide informal meeting areas and guest sleeping quarters for the CEO. It was important that the building be discreet and private while also allowing a visible connection to the Headquarters. The objectives were achieved by carving the building into an existing hillside hiding it from the adjacent road and opening it up on the south side with full glass with views of the adjacent lake. The building facade opens up, allowing for indoor/outdoor connections and exterior meeting areas. The interior is designed to be flexible to allow for multiple uses by joining the functions of dining, meeting and entertaining into a connected space that can be easily reconfigured based on the function. The service programs were pushed into the hillside with a direct pathway to the drop off to allow for delivery and maintenance without interfering with the operation of living areas.
